M. June McCormickM. June McCormick, 91, of Rushville, formerly of Vermont, died at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 24, 2012, at Snyder Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Vermont Township, Fulton County, a daughter of John W. and Erma Horner Bucy. She married Guy Counselman. He preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1947. She then married Hale McCormick on March 12, 1954, in Ipava. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Guy Edward Counselman; six brothers, Otis, Wayne, Ansel, Henry, Claire and George Bucy; three half brothers, Boyd, Ernest and Charlie Bucy; and two half sisters, Dorothy Hughes and Vera Brillhart.

Surviving are two sons, Gary (and Lou Ellen) Counselman of Topeka, Kan., and Brian "Hondo" McCormick of Vermont; one daughter, Tammie (and Todd) Blindt of Vermont; two brothers, Eldon (and Bertha) Bucy of Vermont and John Bucy of Astoria; one sister, Betty Ricketts of Arizona; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, Carroll Rankin American Legion Post #26 Auxiliary and Vermont United Methodist Church.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with minister Chris Dow officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
