Wayne W. Bucy, 79, of San Diego, Calif., died Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, at the Alvarado Hospital in San Diego.

He was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Illinois, a son of John and Erma Horner Bucy. He first married Grace Blickenstaff on June 1, 1939. She survives. He later married Doris Ann Bucy on Oct. 17, 1953. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Judy A. Bucy Rhoades of Washington, Ill., and Sharon K. Bucy Surratt of Aurora; two sisters, June McCormick of Vermont, and Betty Ricketts of Peoria, Ariz.; six brothers, Ansel Bucy of Silvis, Henry Bucy and Eldon Bucy of Vermont, John Bucy of Astoria, Claire Bucy, Claypool, Ariz., George Bucy of Beardstown; one sister-in-law, Audrey Bucy from Springfield; two half-sisters, Dorothy Bucy Hughes of Rushville and Vera Bucy Brillhart of Williamsville; three nieces; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Otis Bucy; three half-brothers, Ernie Bucy, Charles Bucy, and Boyd Bucy; and one half-sister, Lela Bucy Mendenhall.

He was a heavy equipment operator for R.E. Hazard Contracting Co. for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1945-1946.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Mortuary in San Diego, Calif. Burial will be in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Military rites will be accorded.
