SUSIE I. (FARWELL) CURLESS

Mrs. Susie I. Curless Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Susie I. Curless, 80, Astoria, died July 24 in Mason District Hospital. She had been a patient in the hospital for two weeks.

Born Nov. 8, 1888, near Astoria, she was the daughter of William and Annie (Engle) Farwell and married Hugh Curless, Jan. 1, 1905.

He survives along with six daughters, Mrs. Opal Schisler and Mrs. Merna Phillips of Astoria, Mrs. Edith Lee and Mrs. Doris Robertson, Ipava, Mrs. Nellie Ruth, DeKalb, and Mrs. Olive Howe of Havana, four sons, William Curless and John Curless of Astoria, Hartford Curless of Canton, and Ted Curless of Peoria. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Farwell of Summum, Darius Farwell of Havana and Robert Farwell of Peoria. One sister, Mrs. Flossie Rose, Peoria, also survives.

Mrs. Curless was a member of the United Brethren Church of Marbletown.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Shawgo Memorial Home. The Rev. Fines Main officiated with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
