Darius Farwell Dies At Age 91

William Darius Farwell, 91, of 162-1/2 Ave. A, Rushville, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 1984, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born June 12, 1892, in Astoria, the son of William and Annie (Engle) Farwell. He married Rose Workman Sept. 25, 1912, near Astoria. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Dean and Louis of Rushville, Arthur of Peoria, Philip of Morton; three daughters, Mrs. Ina Curless of Astoria, Mrs. Betty Hulvey of Rushville and Mrs. Wanda Landis of Beardstown; one brother, Robert Farwell of Peoria; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 17 great, great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, one infant daughter, one great-grandson, five sisters and three brothers.

He was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Arthur McKinley officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
