Philip FarwellPhilip D. Farwell, 81, of Morton died at 9:55 p.m. June 16, 2011, at Washington Christian Village.

He was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of William Darius and Rose Workman Farwell.

Surviving are two daughters, Angela (and Gary) Stuck of Covington, Ky., and Michele (and Don) Juen of Sanford, Mich.; one son, Philip D. Farwell Jr. of Morton; two brothers, Arthur (and Virginia) Farwell of Peoria and Louis Farwell of Rushville; one sister, Wanda Landis of Beardstown; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ina Curless, Betty Hulvey and Joyce Farwell; and two brothers, Dean and Billy Farwell.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1951 to 1953 with a rank of Cpl (T) with the Fifth Army Area.

He was a drafting engineer at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Mossville for over 35 years, retiring in 1985.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Brian Kenney officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery with full military rites conducted.
