BETTY J. (FARWELL) HULVEY

Betty Hulvey

Betty J. Hulvey, 73, of Rushville, died at 10:23 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Fulton County, a daughter of William Darius and Rose Workman Farwell. She married Glenn W. Hulvey on April 13, 1944, in Rushville. He died Aug. 2, 1988. Also preceding her in death were two grandchildren, one brother, and one sister.

Surviving are four daughters, Rose Ann Schaub of Rushville, Carolyn Latzke of Edwardsburg, Mich., Sharon Mustread of Lewistown, and Joyce Peacock of Lincoln; one son, Glenn Hulvey Jr. of Talladego, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dean Farwell and Louis Farwell, both of Rushville; Arthur Farwell of Peoria, and Philip Farwell of Morton; and one sister, Wanda Landes of Beardstown.

She worked at Mary’s Dairy Maid Restaurant in Rushville for a number of years, retiring in 1975.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor S. M. Davis officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
