Hartford Curless Dies at Age 62

Hartford P. “Jack” Curless, 62, of Havana, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, June 22, 1981, at his home following an illness of several months.

He was born May 2, 1919, in Woodland Twp., Fulton County, the son of Hugh and Susie Farwell Curless. He married Charlotte Gray Feb. 22, 1946, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Connie Ogden of Havana and Mrs. Dianna Hilton of Lewistown; five grandchildren; his father, of Astoria; three brothers, William and John of Astoria and Ted of Peoria; six sisters, Mrs. Nellie Ruth of DeKalb, Mrs. Opal Schisler and Mrs. Myrna Phillips of Astoria; Mrs. Olive Howe of Havana; Mrs. Edith Lee and Mrs. Doris Robinson of Ipava.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. This afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Summum.
