ELMA MAY (BOWMAN) GLOVER ROYER

Elma Royer

Elma M. Royer, 75, of Lewistown, formerly of Astoria, died at 4:16 p.m. Aug. 12, 2006, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born May 23, 1931, in Vermont, a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Flora May Lawson Bowman. She married Chester R. Glover. She later married William F. Royer on May 10, 1979, in Astoria. He died March 26, 1997.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marjorie A. Stambaugh; and one brother, Curtis E. Bowman.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda Simpson of Cuba; three sons, Gary (and Patty) Glover of Colorado Springs, Colo., Thomas (and Kim) Glover of Lawton, Okla., and Michael (and Dawn) Glover of Astoria; four brothers, William Bowman and Max (and Pauline) Bowman Sr., both of Astoria, Robert Bowman Sr. of Bushnell and Donald (and Charlotte) Bowman, Sr. of Bone Gap; three sisters, Ruby (and Gilbert) Hickle of Vermont, LuAnn Schisler of Astoria and Mary Tarboletti of Canton; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was a home healthcare provider in Astoria and Vermont.

She was a member of Astoria Church of the Nazarene.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
