William F. Royer, 89, of Astoria, died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown.
He was born June 28, 1907, in Hamburg, Iowa, a son of Charles and Cloma Derry Royer. He married Katie D. Hamm on May 7, 1941, in Missouri. She died April 17, 1972. He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Walton; one stepdaughter, Eleanor Walters; and one brother.
He married Elma Glover on May 10, 1979, in Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Schisler of Rushville; one stepdaughter, Linda Waldo of Astoria; four stepsons, Wilfred Beck and Michael Glover, both of Astoria, Gary Glover of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Thomas Glover of Oklahoma; one grandson; 13 stepgrandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He worked at International Harvester Co. in Canton. He was a member of the Astoria Church of the Nazarene.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
