WILFORD D. BECK

Wilford D. Beck, 72, of Astoria died at 10:59 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Ipava, a son of Frank and Katie D. Hamm Beck. He married Lois Noble. She died in July 1985.

He also was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Royer; and two stepsisters, Betty Walton and Eleanor Walters.

Surviving are one son, Rodney (and Stacy) of Galesburg; his stepmother, Alma Royer of Astoria; one stepsister, Mary (and Leland) Lowary of Astoria; and two grandsons.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25.

He worked at Vermont Foundry and at Astoria Fibra Steel.

He was a member of Astoria Christian Church in Astoria, where services will be held today at 11 a.m. with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by his American Legion post. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to any charity.
