Robert C. Bowman Sr., 76, of Bardolph died at 12:34 p.m. April 5, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 1, 1942, in Vermont, a son of Thomas Jefferson and Flora Margaret Lawson Bowman. He married Kathy Irving in Oklahoma. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Ronda (and Paul) Northrup of Bushnell and Rita (and Wallace) Jones of Prairie City; one son, Robert C. (and Janene) Bowman Jr. of Prairie City; one brother, Donald (and Charlotte) Bowman of Bone Gap; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Max and Bill Bowman; five sisters, Marjorie Stambaugh, Elma Royer, Ruby Hickle, Mary Tarboletti and LuAnn Schisler; and three half brothers, Lloyd, Floyd and Boyd Bowman.
He worked at Vermont Foundry for over 19 years. He then worked at Excel in Beardstown and Norforge in Bushnell.
He was in the U.S. Army.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
