Lu Ann Schisler, 67, of Astoria, died at 2:45 a.m. May 10, 2017, at her son’s home in Vermont.Lu Ann Schisler, 67, of Astoria, died at 2:45 a.m. May 10, 2017, at her son’s home in Vermont.
She was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Vermont, a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Flora Margaret Lawson Bowman.
Surviving are one daughter, Kelly Westlake of Astoria; one son, Jeff (and Sheila Siltman) Schisler of Vermont; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; special friend, Arthur “Bud” Stambaugh of Browning; two brothers, Robert (and Kathy) Bowman of Bushnell and Donald (and Charlotte) Bowman of Bone Gap.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marjorie Stambaugh, Elma Mae Royer, Mary Taraboletti and Ruby Hickle; three brothers, Gene Bowman, Max Bowman and Bill Bowman; and three half-brothers, Lloyd Bowman, Floyd Bowman and Boyd Bowman.
She was a graduate of VIT High School. She worked at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville as a dietary aid for over 20 years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at Vermont Christian Church with Pastor Cody Stinnett officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home of Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
