William Bowman

William H. Bowman, 73, of Vermont died at 6:05 a.m. Oct. 29, 2011, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born June 24, 1938, in Vermont, a son of Thomas Jefferson and Flora May Lawson Bowman. He married Lola Jean Danner on Sept. 1, 1958, in Astoria. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1996.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Curtis and Max Bowman; and two sisters, Marjorie Stambaugh and Elma May Royer.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Bowman of Vermont and Pam Bowman of Browning; two sons, Tim (and Wanda) Bowman of Table Grove and William "Billy" (and Tina) Bowman of Rushville; three sisters, Ruby (and Gilbert) Hickle and LuAnn Schisler, both of Astoria and Mary Tarboletti of Canton; two brothers, Robert (and Kathy) Bowman of Vermont and Donald (and Charlotte) Bowman of Bone Gap; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He worked at Vermont Foundry.

He was of the Christian faith.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor John Tuthill II officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.

Memorials may be made to William Bowman family.
