Mrs. Flora Bowman Dies At Age 78

Mrs. Flora M. Bowman, 78, of the Astoria Healthcare Center, died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 1988, at the Center.

She was born June 30, 1910 in Valeria, Ky., a daughter of William and Haley (Lawson) Lawson. She married Thomas Bowman in Valeria, Ky., Aug. 19, 1926. He preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1972.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Hickle of Vermont, Mrs. Elma Glover and Mrs. Luann Schisler, both of Astoria, Mrs. Mary Taraboletti of Canton, and Mrs. Marjorie Stambaugh of Venedy; four sons, Donald Bowman of Campbell Hill, Max Bowman of Astoria, Robert Bowman of Lewistown, and William Bowman of Canton; one sister, Mrs. Nancy Bair of Canton; 31 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, one sister and one brother.

She was a member of the Astoria Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Donald Pratt officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.
