Frank Lau Passes Away In A Peoria Hospital

Franklin Lau passed away last Wednesday at a Peoria hospital, following an extended illness, aged 86 years, 9 months and 27 days.

Mr. Lau was born near Summum on Oct. 8, 1866, a son of Emanuel and Caroline Lau. He was united in marriage to May Butler, who preceded him in death a few years after their marriage. To them were born two children, Grover Lau of Washington, Ill., and Ida Thompson of Summum.

His second marriage was to Louisa Hughes, in 1894. To this union eight children were born, one dying in infancy. Mrs. Lau preceded him in death on May 29, 1941.

Surviving are Grover Lau of Washington, Ill., Ida Thompson of Summum; Frank Lau and Mrs. Rose Vaughn, Canton; Elmer Lau, of Chapin; Mrs. Florine Trone, Rushville; Mrs. Nellie Ward, Frederick, and Howard Lau, Astoria. Mrs. Alta Louderback died in 1931. He is also survived by one brother, Mike Lau of Astoria, and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Cline Horton home, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial in Summum cemetery.
