Death Claimed Daughter Of Astoria Parents

Alta C. Louderback, wife of Jake Louderback, well known here, died at the family residence in Canton at 9:15 o’clock Thursday evening, January 22nd. She had been a sufferer from tuberculosis for a year, yet she was patient and bore it with kindness to all.

Mrs. Louderback was born Sept. 28, 1905 near Ipava, and was the daughter of Frank and Louisa Lau, who survive. She was married on April 19, 1922 to Jake Louderback, who survives with the children, Robert, Russell, Ralph and Harriet Jean, all at home.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ralph McMullen of near Ipava, Frank Lau, Canton, Elmer Lau, Virginia, Ill., Mrs. T. R. Vaughn, Vermont, Mrs. John Trone, Rushville, Nellie and Howard at home near Astoria, one half sister, Mrs. Oscar Thompson, Summum and one half brother, Grover Lau, Canton.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Sheldons Grove church by Rev. John Davis. Burial in the Sheldons Grove cemetery.

[Additional information from Lonnie: Alta died of tuberculosis. Jacob disappeared and the children were placed with their grandparents. They eventually ended up in foster care.]
