Otis S. Derry Of Astoria Dies

Otis S. Derry, 66, of Astoria died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 1989, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Woodland Township, a son of Newton B. and Pearl Gould Derry. He married Anna Lee Pickering on Aug. 26, 1938, Keokuk, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Gene Derry of Bardolph; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Windsor of Astoria and Mrs. Lynn (Elaine) Moses of Peoria; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three brothers, Ben, Bernard and Donald Derry, all of Astoria; three sisters, Darlene Waggoner and Dorothy Brillhart, both of Astoria, and Ferne Conner of Turlock, Calif.; one stepbrother, Jack Parr of Vermont; and two stepsisters, Nelda Herriford of Ipava and Flossie Danner of Adair.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Summum Christian Church, Astoria Lions Club and Teamsters Local 710. He was a retired truck driver.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Summum Christian Church with Collis Trone and Jim Comstock officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
