Nelda L. Herriford, 93, of Macomb, formerly of Ipava, died at 4:15 a.m. March 19, 2015, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.Nelda L. Herriford, 93, of Macomb, formerly of Ipava, died at 4:15 a.m. March 19, 2015, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.
She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Summum, a daughter of Ralph and Edith Beam Parr. She married Lewis M. Herriford on Feb. 17, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1983.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Averill; and two brothers, Lawrence Phillip “Jack” Parr and Dean Parr.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Herriford of Gardiner, Mont., and Jim (and Carol) Herriford of Billings, Mont.; one sister, Flossie Danner of Macomb; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She worked at Camp Ellis during World War II, was a factory worker in Bushnell and also did interior decorating.
She was a member of Berean Christian Church in Ipava.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
