Mrs. Edith Derry Of Ipava Dies

Mrs. Edith M. Derry, 82, of Ipava, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 1980, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville.

She was born May 30, 1898, in Fulton County, the daughter of Henry and Ollie Clark Beam. She married Ralph Parr on April 19, 1917. He preceded her in death. She then married Newton B. Derry on Sept. 16, 1943. He died Nov. 30, 1967.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Nelda L. Herriford and Mrs. Wanda Averill, both of Ipava and Mrs. Flossie M. Danner of Adair; two sons, Jack P. Parr of Vermont and Dean Parr of San Jose, Calif.; eight stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and one half-sister, Mrs. Florine Johnson of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by one stepson, two brothers, one sister, and one half-sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.
