ANNA LEE (PICKERING) DERRY

Anna Derry

Anna Lee Derry, 85, of Astoria died at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 24, 2009, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born March 30, 1923, in Ipava, a daughter of Bruce and Anna McCamant Pickering. She married Otis S. Derry on Aug. 26, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died April 26, 1989.

She also was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Moses; one brother, Carl Pickering; and four sisters, Ruth Ebbert, Alice Larson, Elsie Mennes and Mary Reneau.

She was a seamstress working at Blue Bell in Bushnell, and made designer dresses for Famous Barr in Kansas City. She also did upholstery work in Chicago.

She was a member of Summum Christian Church.

Services were held Saturday at her church with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
