Woodrow Briney, 81, of Ipava, died at 1:27 a.m. Monday, May 8, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Schuyler County, a son of Grover and Golda Dixon Briney. He married Meryle Rose on June 29, 1935, in Rushville. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary of Sayre, Pa. and Kent of Washington, Ill.; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Luther (Virginia) Beck of Astoria; and two brothers, John of Havana and James of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
He farmed in the Astoria area since 1947. He was a member and past president of the Astoria Community School Board. He was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone and Rev. Lance Leeds officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the memorial home. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.
