Mrs. Goldie Briney Dies In Canton

Mrs. Goldie M. Briney, 90, of Canton, formerly of the Astoria area, died at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 1986, at the Nursing Center at Canton.

She was born July 27, 1895, in Bluff City, the daughter of Milo and Alice (Dutton) Dixon. She married Grover C. Briney in July 1912. He died in September 1930.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Luther (Virginia) Beck of Canton; three sons, Woodrow Briney of Ipava, John Briney of Havana and James Briney of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of Bluff City Community Church.

Funeral services are to be at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Bruce W. Bolin-Ghitalia officiating. Burial will be in Sheldons Grove Cemetery.
