Mrs. Ethel Webb Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Ethel D. Webb, 74, of Lewistown, a former Astoria resident, died about noon Friday at the Graham Hospital in Canton. She had been ill the past month.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Astoria. The Rev. Russell Fry conducted the services and burial was in Astoria cemetery.

Pallbearers were all grandsons of Mrs. Webb. Music for the services was furnished by friends from Lewistown.

Mrs. Webb was born April 17, 1890 in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, the daughter of David and Eva Babcock Smith. She married Charles B. Webb April 29, 1906. He died Oct. 22, 1960. She was a member of the Astoria EUB Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Stremmel of Farmington and Mrs. Mildred Slaight of Lewistown; eight sons, Clair and Walter, both of Astoria; Lyle and Russell, both of Bushnell; Maurice, Floyd and Robert, all of Lewistown and Herman of Ipava; 27 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother, Earl Smith of Ankeny, Iowa, and a half-brother, Fay Gilson of Astoria.

A sister, three half-sisters, two half-brothers and infant twins died previously.
