Ruby M. Stremmel, 87, of Canton, died at 6:43 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 1997, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
She was born Sept. 30, 1909, in Fulton County, a daughter of Charles B. and Ethel D. Smith Webb. She married Sheldon R. Stremmel on Aug. 9, 1931, in Astoria. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles “Dick” (Norma) Brown of Carthage; three sons, Richard Stremmel, Dennis Stremmel and Roger Stremmel, all of Canton; one sister, Mildred Slaight of Canton; five brothers, Clair Webb and Walter Webb, both of Astoria, Maurice Webb and Floyd Webb, both of Lewistown, and Herman Webb of Ipava; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
One grandchild, one great-grandchild, four brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
She was a member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Astoria.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Elder James Harris officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Astoria.
