He was born Aug. 14, 1907, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Charles W. and Estella M. Keefer Stremmel.
He married Ruby M. Webb on Aug. 9, 1931, in Astoria. She died March 8, 1997.
He also was preceded in death by one sister, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.
Surviving are one daughter, Norma (and Charles Dick) Brown of Carthage; three sons, Richard (and Billie), Dennis (and Phyllis) and Roger, all of Canton; one sister, Frances Briney of Astoria; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He farmed in the Astoria and Farmington areas his entire life.
He was a member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Astoria, Fulton County Farm Bureau and Fulton County Civic Singers.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Elder Randy Webb officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in rural Astoria.
