Mrs. Estela M. “Stella” Stremmel, 94, of Astoria, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 1980, at the Prairie City Nursing Home where she had resided the past seven years.
She was born in Iowa on Sept. 3, 1886, a daughter of David and Rachel Miller Keefer. She was married to Charles W. Stremmel in Lewistown on Apr. 6, 1907. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1973.
She was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren near Astoria.
Survivors include one son, Sheldon Stremmel of Canton; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Frances) Briney of Astoria; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were one daughter, eight brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with David Naff officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Woodland Church of the Brethren in her memory.
