Aged Resident Dies

David T. Keefer, Aged Eighty-six Years, Passed Away Saturday; Funeral Tuesday.

David T. Keefer, an aged and highly respected citizen died Saturday evening, at 5 o’clock at his home south of Astoria, aged 85 years, 10 months and 26 days. Death was due to complications and his advanced age.

Mr. Keefer was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Ann Miller in 1861 and to this union eleven children were born, seven surviving, namely: C. W. Keefer of Redfield, Iowa; Chas. I. Keefer of Linden, Iowa; John Keefer at home; Orlo Keefer of Quincy; Temple Keefer of Canton; Fred Keefer of Astoria and Mrs. Estella Stremmel of Woodland township.

Mr. Keefer was born in York county, Penn., May 7, 1834 and came to Illinois in 1872.

Funeral services were held at the Old Order church of which he was a member, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Elder Stull. Burial in the cemetery near by.
