Floyd WebbFloyd L. "Bane" Webb, 92, of rural Lewistown died at 4:35 a.m. Jan. 6, 2012, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

He was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Astoria, a son of Charles and Ethel Smith Webb. He married Isla Mae Bricker in 1942. She preceded him in death in 1957. He later married Connie Brown on June 12, 1971, in St. David. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Beverlee Sale of Canton; one brother, Maurice Webb of Cuba; one sister, Mildred Slaight of Canton; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant child; six brothers, Clair, Lyle, Russell, Herman, Walter and Robert; and one sister, Ruby Stremmel.

He taught school in Indiana, Ohio and Illinois. He also worked as a carpenter, farmer and musician as a guitarist.

Services were held Tuesday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Kevin VanTine officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Inurnment will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton at a later date.
