Mrs. Mamie B. Van Fossen, 93, of Rushville, former Vermont area resident, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday morning at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born April 13, 1892, in Astoria, the daughter of Ellsworth and Harriet Hickle Ring. She married William Van Fossen in Astoria March 1, 1909. He died May 22, 1970.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Van Fossen of Rushville and Earl Van Fossen of Ipava; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Lela) Chockley of Galesburg; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Alteen, and one brother, Tom Ring, both of Abingdon; 16 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 24 great, great grandchildren.
One daughter, two sons, one brother and two sisters died earlier.
Mrs. Van Fossen was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Vermont United Methodist Church with Rev. David Haney officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.
