Former Astorian Died Suddenly At Ellisville

James Ellsworth Ring, son of James B. and Phebee Ring, was born June 15, 1860, in Vermont township, Fulton County, Ill. Died suddenly Nov. 30, 1933, aged 73 years, 5 months and 15 days. The greater part of his life was spent near the place of his birth. In 1929 he moved to Ellisville township, about four miles north of Ellisville, where he resided at the time of his death.

He was married to Miss Sarah Harriett Hickle, March 16, 1895. To them were born eight children, of which five survive, namely: James B. of Hermon, Ill., Mattie Marie Alteen of Galesburg, Mary Gladys Wherley, Galesburg, Thomas Demmer of Ellisville and Mamie Belle Van Fossen of Littleton, Ill.

Mr. Ring had a number of brothers and sisters who preceded him in death. Two living brothers, Elias and Enoch D. made their home with him. Mrs. Ring also survives.

Mr. Ring was a good neighbor and friend. He had a sunny disposition and a cheerful word for everyone and was loved and respected by his neighbors and all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Union Chapel church. Burial in the cemetery nearby.
