Mrs. Sarah Harriett Ring, 79, of Galesburg, former Vermont resident died Friday afternoon at Cottage hospital in Galesburg.
Mrs. Ring was born Sept. 26, 1874, a daughter of John and Agnes Diehl Hickle. She was married to Ellsworth Ring. She resided near Vermont most of her life but was living with a daughter, Mrs. Mattie Alteen, Galesburg, at the time of her death.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. Alteen, Mrs. Grave [Gladys] Wherley, Galesburg, Mrs. Mamie Van Fossen, Vermont, and Tom Ring, Abingdon; three brothers, Webster Hickle, Archie Hickle, Galesburg, and George Hickle, Galesburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Craig and Mrs. Grace Wiley, both of Kewanee, and Mrs. Mary Lucan, Galesburg.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church in Vermont, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson of Astoria. Burial in Union Chapel cemetery.
