John A. Hickle Passed Away At Home Of Daughter

John A. Hickle, son of Aaron and Sarah Hickle was born near Vermont, Ill., May 15, 1850, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hattie Ring, October 15, 1925, aged 75 years and 5 months. Sometime ago he suffered a paralytic stroke and death was due to a complication of diseases.

He was united in marriage November 14, 1872, to Mary Agnes Diehl, who preceded him in death, January 13, 1901. To this union ten children were born, one son, Luther Aaron, dying at the age of four years. He leaves to mourn his loss the following children: Mrs. Hattie Ring, of Vermont; Mrs. Orpha Teel, of Hermon; John Webster, of Lamar, Nebr.; Archie E., George W. and Mrs. Mary Lucan, all of Galesburg; Mrs. Olive Craig, of Kewanee; Glenn C., of Griggsville; and Mrs. Grace Wiley, of Milo, Iowa. Also 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Sigourney Elliott, of Summum, and one brother, C. A. of Vermont.

He was a kind and loving father and during his last sickness was a patient sufferer to the end.

Funeral services were held at Ipava, Saturday at 2:00 o'clock. Burial in the Ipava cemetery.
