Earl Van Fossen Of Ipava Dies

Earl L. VanFossen, 75, of Ipava, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 1987, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Aug. 23, 1911, in Table Grove, the son of William and Mamie Bell (Ring) VanFossen. He married Marie Smith Mar. 7, 1932, in Lewistown. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Donald D. VanFossen of Richmond, Va., and Richard W. VanFossen of Pekin; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Paul VanFossen of Rushville; and one sister, Lela Chockley of Galesburg.

A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

A retired farmer, he was a trustee of the Pleasant Township Cemetery and a former Ipava Village Board trustee. He was a member of Ipava Christian Church.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ipava Christian Church with Rev. Ronald Clark officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava Christian Church.
