She was born June 26, 1927, in Littleton Twp. Schuyler County, a daughter of Earl and Flora Mae Lear Lashbrook. She married Gerald A. Sipes on July 13, 1945, in Pleasant View. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1995.
She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Wendy Sue Sipes and Andrew Luke Sipes; four brothers; Clyde Lashbrook, Robert Lashbrook, Wayne Lashbrook and George Lashbrook; four sisters, Grace Johnson, Ruth Wheelhouse, Pauline Clong and Beatrice Hopkins.
Surviving are four sons, Gerald M. “Marley” (and Donna) Sipes, Jerry Lee (and Tina) Sipes and Steven Earl (and Lori) Sipes, all of Rushville and Sam A. (and Patty) Sipes of Beardstown; four daughters, Teena (and Robert) Woodruff, LuCinda (and Dave) Logsdon and Tammie Workman, all of Rushville and Paula (and Barry) Scego of Browning; two brothers, Carl Lashbrook of Beardstown and Fred (and Coralene) Lashbrook of Rushville; one sister, Alta Mae Claassen of Rushville; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She worked for Mickelberry Packing Co., was a Fuller Brush Dealer and worked at Ping’s Pantry, all in Rushville. She also worked at Dennis Chicken Products in Augusta.
Funeral services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Rose Ross officiating. Burial was in Christian Neck Cemetery northeast of Rushville.
