Ralph McCormick Dies At Age 75

Ralph Cleveland McCormick, 75, a lifetime resident of the Astoria area, died at 11 a.m. Friday in the Snyder Nursing Home in Rushville.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Mr. McCormick was born April 22, 1894, near Astoria, a son of Findly and Rebecca Bollinger McCormick. He was married to the former Fern Derry. She died in 1946.*

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Sawin of Rushville, Mrs. Margaret Hopping of Industry, Mrs. Opal Phillips of New Philadelphia, Mrs. Bernice Sharpe of Cuba, Mrs. Shirley DiCroce of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Josephine James of Bushnell and Mrs. Virginia McCombs of Astoria; five sons, Dwight of Aurora, Charles of Colona, Gene of Dixon, Tex., Alonzo of Maryland and Dorvan of Astoria; two stepsons, Devere Derry of Morton and Otis Derry of Decatur; 41 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were one daughter, one grandchild and two brothers.
