Gean McCormickGean Edward "Snowball" McCormick, 77, of Webster, Texas, died Aug. 13, 2006, in Webster.

He was born May 30, 1929, in Astoria, a son of Ralph and Fern Derry McCormick. He married Maxine McCormick in 1951. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Nancy Jean Leader, Cynthia Lee Brisbin and Suzanne Lynn Tidwell; one son, Scott Freeman McCormick; two brothers, Dorvan of Astoria and Charles of Colona; seven sisters, Marjorie Sawin and Virginia McCombs, both of Astoria, Margaret Hopping of Industry, Opal Phillips of Marietta, Bernice Sharpe of Cuba, Shirley DiCroce of Denver, Colo., and Josephine James of Macomb; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dwight and Alonzo; two half-brothers, Devere and Otis; and one sister, Beatrice.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He worked and retired from Sears in the auto repair department.

Services were held Aug. 17 in the Chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Burial was in Houston National Cemetery.
