Leroy G. Klinedinst, 89, of Astoria died at 6:55 p.m. Sept. 11, 2012, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born March 4, 1923, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of George D. and Clara M. Stambaugh Klinedinst. He married Doris E. Salisbury on May 29, 1945, in Ipava. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2008.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Robert Klinedinst; one brother, Forrest Klinedinst; and three sisters, Vernedene Buswell, Nelda Schnarr and Leona Ogden.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra (and Gary) Adkins of Astoria; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Klinedinst of Astoria; three sisters, Violet Wickert and Marjorie (and Devere) Scrogum, both of Astoria and Claribel Buswell of Ipava; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of Good Sam's Club for 30 years where he served as Chapter president for three years; activity director for Park Place Estates in Harlingen, Texas; Fulton County Farm Bureau; and served on the Woodland Township Board.
Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
