Marshall Devere ScrogumMarshall Devere Scrogum, 97, of Astoria died at 5:25 p.m. Jan. 21, 2020, at The Elms in Macomb.

He was born April 21, 1922, in Fulton County, a son of Hobart and Irma Parr Scrogum. He married Marjorie Klinedinst on Jan. 12, 1947, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Marsha (and Ray) Adkins of Astoria, Cheryl (and Dennis) Dye of Reedsburg, Wis., and Mary Sue (and Mark) Clayton of West Paducah, Ky.; one son, Michael (and Penny) Scrogum of Macomb; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Jerry Scrogum; one step grandchild; and one brother, Hobart Scrogum.

He farmed his entire life. He and Marjorie owned and operated the Tool and Treasure Shoppe in Astoria for 25 years in their spare time.

He was a longtime member and Board member of Summum Christian Church and the Summum Cemetery Board.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
