Marjorie ScrogumMarjorie M. Scrogum, 95, of Astoria died at 11:35 p.m. Feb. 16, 2021, at her home.

She was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Astoria, a daughter of George and Clara Mae Stambaugh Klinedinst. She married Marshall Devere Scrogum on Jan. 12, 1947, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2020.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Jerry Scrogum; three sisters, Leona Ogden, Nelda Schnarr and Vernadene Buswell; two brothers, Leroy and Forrest Klinedinst; and one step grandchild, Justin Clayton.

Surviving are three daughters, Marsha (and Ray) Adkins of Astoria, Cheryl Dye of Canton and Mary Sue (and Mark) Clayton of West Paducah, Ky.; one son, Michael (and Penny) Scrogum of Macomb; two sisters, Violet Wickert of Astoria and Claribel Buswell of Ipava; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She worked in the finance office at Camp Ellis and Camp Grant. She worked as an aide and business manager for 17 years at Mason District Hospital. She was secretary of the Hospital Management Association for eight years. She received the Follmar Award for outstanding service as a member of the McMahon Illini Chapter. She also worked at the Havana Dana Corporation Accounting Office until their closing. She and her husband owned and operated the Tool and Treasure Shoppe in Astoria, which they operated for 25 years in their spare time.

She was a member of Summum Christian Church.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Larry Smith and Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday before the service. A private burial will be at the Summum Cemetery.
