Aged Astoria Woman Dies

Mrs. Emma Grove died at her home here Friday morning, aged 81 years, 4 months and 26 days. She had been ill but a few days. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.

Mrs. Grove was born in Astoria township, Dec. 21, 1864, the daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth Litchfield Danner. She was united in marriage to Ahas Grove, Sept. 9, 1883. He died Feb. 18, 1935.

Surviving are Mrs. Dolly Mitchell of Ray, Mrs. William Schisler, of Ipava, Miss Pearl Grove at home, Diamond Grove, Cerro Gordo, Ill., Orlo Grove, Vermont, Earl Grove of Astoria, and a brother, Samuel Danner, Astoria.

She became a member of the South Fulton Church of the Brethren in an early day and remained an ardent member throughout the years.

Mrs. Grove was a kind neighbor and when her strength would permit was at her post of duty in the home and church.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Astoria Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. G. G. Canfield. Burial took place in the South Fulton cemetery.
