SAMUEL B. DANNER

Well Known Resident Dies; Rites Sunday

Samuel B. Danner, a well known retired farmer, died at his home here Thursday, aged 83 years, 3 months and 17 days. He had been ill for practically eighteen months.

Mr. Danner was born in Astoria township on August 20, 1867, a son of S. S. J. and Elizabeth Litchfield Danner. He was united in marriage to Emma Sweigard on September 29, 1891. To this union were born four children, namely: Roxy, at home; Verne Danner, Adair; Herschel Danner of Blandinsville, and Mrs. Naomi Miller of Canton. Also seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Danner had spent almost his entire life in and around Astoria. He was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren. He was the last of a family of eight children.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Astoria Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. Harold I. Deeter. Burial in the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.
