ELIZABETH (LITCHFIELD) DANNER

Aged Lady Dead

Mrs. Elizabeth Danner, widow of Solomon Danner and pioneer resident of Fulton county, died at the home of her son, John Danner, south of Astoria, at 4:15 o'clock Tuesday morning following an illness of two weeks duration. Death was due to infirmities of age.

[illegible-microfilm scratched] Elizabeth Litchfield. She was born in Coshocton county, Ohio. She came to Illinois with her parents when she was six weeks old and has been a resident of the county continuously since that time. At the time of her death, she was aged 81 years, two months and 8 days.

She was united in marriage to Solomon Danner in 1857 and to them were born six children, namely: Mrs. Sarah English Argo, of Astoria, James Danner, of Camden, Mrs. Emma Grove, William and John Danner of Astoria township and Samuel Danner of Woodland. Her husband died Sept. 7, 1894.

Besides her children she leaves one brother, Manford Litchfield, residing west of Astoria and three sisters, Mrs. Martha McDonald and Mrs. Ollie Aten, of Adair and Mrs. David Switzer, of Astoria.

Mrs. Danner was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor and held in high esteem by all who knew her. She was a life long member of the Church of The Brethren.

Funeral services will be held at the home of John Danner Thursday, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Chas. Walters. Interment in the Astoria cemetery.
