Well Known Resident Dies

John G. Danner Passed Away Thursday; Funeral Held Sunday

John G. Danner, died at the Peoria State Hospital Thursday evening, following a long illness.

Mr. Danner, the son of Soloman and Elizabeth (Litchfield) Danner, was born near Astoria, Nov. 20, 1872. At the time of his death he was aged 68 years and 19 days.

The deceased was married to Tillie Beghtol July 5, 1893. To this union was born three children, Ralph, who passed away when but a small boy, Gladys of Springfield, and Forrest of Astoria.

Mr. Danner had spent all of his life in Astoria township, on the farm on which he was born, until 1929 when he moved to Astoria, where he has since made his home. His life work was farming and he was recognized as being a very industrious, successful farmer.

His benevolent spirit and fair dealing won for him many warm friends among his neighbors and acquaintances. He was of a quiet, unassuming disposition.

He was the seventh child of a family of eight children. He is survived by his wife, and the above named children, also one brother, Samuel Danner of Woodland township, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Grove of Astoria.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the United Brethren church, conducted by Rev. C. P. Ellis. Interment in Astoria cemetery.
