SOLOMON DANNER

Solomon Danner

Died, in Astoria township, Friday night, September 7, 1894, of heart disease, Solomon Danner, aged sixty-four years.

S. S. J. Danner, the subject of this sketch, was born in York county, Pa., June 15, 1829, and was but three years old when, with his parents, he settled in Butler county, Ohio, where he grew to manhood and for some years became employed on the Cincinnati and Toledo canal. In the spring of 1849 he came to this township where he resided until death. In 1857 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Litchfield. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom are living — Sarah C., James H., Jacob L. (deceased), Henry, Samuel B., William J., John and Albert.*

The funeral occurred at the Astoria Dunkard church south of Astoria Sunday, September 9, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Astoria cemetery.

Solomon Danner

Solomon Danner, aged about sixty-five years died suddenly at his home near this city Friday night last at nine o'clock. It is supposed that his death was caused by heart disease as he had been as well as usual up to a few hours of his demise. Deceased as an old and respected resident, having lived here for many years.

[Laura's note: None of the other obits I have looked up so far for this family mention an Albert, but they all mention Emma Groves, whom this obit does not mention - perhaps I typed it wrong. I will look it up again when I get a chance.]
