Hermenia "Menie" EgbertHermenia "Menie" Egbert, 89, of Browning died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Beardstown.

She was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Lossie and Lula Gibson Bollinger. She married Raymond Egbert on June 12, 1936, in Rushville. He died May 21, 1988.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Bollinger; and one sister, Donna Wehmeier.

Surviving are one son, Larry (and Debby) of Browning; one daughter, Sandy (and Jack) Stower of Dixon; four sisters, Inez (and George) Egbert and Betty (and Max) Riebling, both of Holiday Island, Ark., Edna (and David) Miller of Browning and Marilyn Orwig of Astoria; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm.

She was a former member of Ridgeville Community Church, where she served as treasurer, and attended Church of Christ in Browning.

Services were held Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Ruppel officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or Church of Christ in Browning.
