David Miller

David E. Miller, 90, of Browning died at 7:36 a.m. Feb. 16, 2012, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Sept. 7, 1921, near Bader, a son of William Andrew and Mary Ann Beeghley Miller. He married Edna Mae Bollinger on Feb. 21, 1942, in Browning. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Roger (and Billie) Logan Miller; two daughters, Kathleen (and Ronald) Schoenfelder of Bradenton, Fla., and Sally Jo Davis of East Peoria; one sister, Susie Lind of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and infant Joseph Miller.

David and his wife lived and worked all their married life on the same farm near Bader.

He served as a 4-H leader for 25 years and served on the Boards of Sarah D. Culbertson Hospital, Farm Service and Farm Bureau for many years. He also served on Astoria School Board and as a fire trustee in the Astoria area.

He was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Mud Valley District. He attended Bader Christian Church with his wife.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mud Valley Church near Bader. Burial will be in Mud Valley Cemetery near Bader. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Mud Valley Cemetery or Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
