Robert ConnerRobert F. Conner, 82, of Astoria died at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Astoria Gardens.

He was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Charles Clayton and Rosa Marie Brillhart Conner.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (and Donnie) Bair of Vermont, and Sharon (and Jerry) Trone of Pekin; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, a special friend, Charlotte Merrill of Astoria, with whom he made his home; one brother, Richard of Astoria; and two sisters, Helen (and Orley) Shaw and Grace (and Jack) Bair, both of Astoria.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and an infant; and two sisters, Nelda Webb and Ruby Vail.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He farmed in the Astoria area. He also worked as a molder at Vermont Foundry and was a supervisor at Bower Bearing in Macomb for more than 20 years.

He was a member of Summum Christian Church, where services were held Tuesday with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church.
