Richard "Dick" Conner, 84, of Macomb, formerly of Astoria, died at 11:15 a.m. Aug. 24, 2012, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Astoria, a son of Charles Clayton and Rosa Marie Brillhart Conner. He married Maxine Bernice McCormick on Oct. 9, 1945, in Canton. She preceded him in death on May 20, 1992.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Conner; and two sisters, Ruby Savidge and Nelda Webb.

Surviving are one daughter, Joyce (and Bill) Ulmer of Macomb; one son, Jerry (and Debbie) Conner of Macomb; two sisters, Helen Shaw and Grace (and Jack) Bair, both of Astoria; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1945-46 with the rank of Seaman Second Class.

He was a farmer; Sale Barn owner and auctioneer, partnering with Dick Powell for over 50 years; and worked at Lewistown Ag for many years.

He was a lifetime member of Lewistown VFW and a 60-year member of Carroll Rankin American Legion Post #26 of Vermont.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
