LAURA ELLEN (LOUDERBACK) WHERLEY

Laura Wherley

Laura E. Wherley, 99, of Beloit, Wis., formerly of Ipava, died Monday evening, Aug. 7, 1995, at Premier Care Nursing Home in Beloit.

She was born Feb. 5, 1896, in Omaha, Neb., a daughter of Norris and Willimina Harlow Louderback. She married Pius Wherley on July 5, 1913, in Lewistown. He died Nov. 18, 1971. She also was preceded in death by two sons, one grandson, two sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are four sons, Wendell of Table Grove, James of Bloomington, Donald of Industry and Harold of Canby, Ore.; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Lois) Haney of Industry, Mrs. Bruce (Ann) Coven of Peoria, Mrs. Duane (Wanda) Himmel of Topeka and Mrs. John (Peggy) Ross of Beloit; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 14 great, great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Quilters Club, both in Ipava, and the Rebekah Lodge in Lewistown.

She was a member of the Ipava Presbyterian Church, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Kevin Kessler officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery near Astoria.

Memorials may be made to her church or Ipava American Legion Auxiliary.
