Wanda M. Himmel, 82, of Topeka died at 5:30 p.m. April 23, 2015, at OSF–St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Macomb, the daughter of Pius Edward and Laura Ellen Louderback Wherley. She married Duane Himmel on July 15, 1972, in Bath. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Karen Danner of Rushville; one brother, Don Wherley of Macomb; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. She had worked at the Quiver Beach Inn, Lakewood Golf Course and Shay’s Tavern at Buzzville.
Funeral services were held April 27 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana with Rev. Kevin Wendorf officiating. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements.
